What is "viscose from bamboo" clothing?
"Viscose from bamboo" is the techical, legal term for what most people commonly refer to as bamboo fabric. When you're scouring the internet for bamboo clothing, you're really searching for viscose-from-bamboo clothing. You know what you want, you know we have what you want, but even though we both agree on what "bamboo clothing" means, the government wants to make sure we're not misleading you into thinking our clothing is made from bamboo, because it's really made from viscose that's made from bamboo... yup, I think that's the same thing, and it's the exact same fabric my customers have been falling in love with for 4 years, but the according to the FTC, we are now required to make sure you're aware that bamboo clothing is really "viscose from bamboo" clothing. So we've changed the wording on our site to reflect the new textile laws - we wouldn't want you to be searching for bamboo clothing, find "bamboo clothing" here, but then be surprised that the technical term is actually viscose-from-bamboo clothing. That's your tax dollars, hard at work! ;)
So is clothing made out of viscose from bamboo different from any other viscose? In my opinion, yes! "Bamboo" clothing feels soft, silky, warm yet cool, lightweight yet strong, ultra beathable - it really doesn't feel much like regular viscose at all, it's purely a technical term based on the processing (viscose/rayon just means that it was wood pulp, and is now fabric.) Honestly, I started this company because I fell in love with a bamboo dress - the silkiness, the breathability, the fact that it holds dye so well you can wash it a million times & it stays black... I'm an avid sewer & fabric-lover, and I loved the Dreamsacks fabric so much I wanted to build my wardrobe out of nothing but bamboo clothing, so I thought I might as well start a store!! :) Try it - I promise you'll love it!
