At our very core, Vortex Organics is a family owned business, with our children's future - and the future of the planet they will inherit - guiding our every decision.
We decided to dive into the world of bamboo textiles in 2006, when Jamie was managing editor of Vegfamily.com. As a vegan, Jamie was incredibly interested in cruelty-free clothing, and was intrigued when she read about bamboo clothing in a natural living magazine. As a web designer & ecommerce enthusiast dabbling in website internet marketing, she had been searching for just
the right product - a product she loved - to start her own internet boutique. OrganicBambooClothing.com was born, soon to be followed by OrganicBambooSheets.com & OrganicBambooTowels.com.
By 2009, with sales rolling in and new customers every day, it became clear that bamboo would be our new way of life. Vortex Organics was formed by Kirk to manage the business operations, as well as our retail location in Valley West Mall, West Des Moines, IA.
We now offer a complete selection of bamboo clothing for men, women and babies, as well as bamboo sheets, bamboo towels, bamboo kitchen towels, bamboo scarves, bamboo soap, bamboo everything! We also offer a hand-picked selection of sustainable Fair Trade Jewelry, and will continue to add products that are made from sustainable or recycled materials.
We also have a great interest in offering products from small, family-owned companies like our own - wherever in the world they are located. We strongly believe that close-knit families are the background of a peaceful (and joyful) world, and are thrilled to be able to work with our children in tow. After all, they are our inspiration!
